Marriage was to be the lot of almost every woman in my era, whether we were looking for something else or not.

Few women pursued a career and if they did it was expected they would give up their job as soon as they had children.

For me, I was looking for something more than a quiet married existence. I was not particularly feminist but I was more aligned with the spirit of female independence.

Money? Marriage? Children? Home? I wanted all of these.

But deep down, I was searching for something else, something more.

When I was at school the focus was to get good grades, go to college and get a good job.

Thanks to the internet, people with entrepreneurial aspirations can start and run a lifestyle business worldwide, and it very well applies to seniors as well.

I am a full-time carer for my husband and have a son with multiple sclerosis, so I was looking for an opportunity to allow me to work from home and gave me a head start and unlimited income potential.
