How To Handle Setbacks In Life

Setbacks are not easy to handle, but they definitely help us build our character.

Like most of you, I have been facing setbacks at times, and those setbacks seem to be more challenging especially when you have a strong emotional desire.

When I was a teenager, I had this intense desire to go to England.  I had no idea how I would ever accomplish it.  Nobody in my family or anyone I knew wanted to leave their town, let alone the country.

My family at the time was in no position to afford such a trip, in fact, we were living on a tight budget.

I couldn’t speak a word of English, and when I started learning the language, it wasn’t easy for me.

When I finished my career as a Bilingual Secretary, I wasn’t chosen for a position as a bilingual secretary because my English wasn’t good enough.

It took me a long while to find a job, and I was losing hope that I would ever save to go to England.

But I remained persistent and determined, and as soon as I let go, everything started to fall into place.

I found a good job which allowed me saved for the trip and I went to England.

According to Abraham Hick’s teachings, we already know what we want, we just have to figure out how to let it in.  We are continually inspired by all the things we observe, and there will be manifestations of all of what we have thought once we relax and allow them in.

Back in those days, I didn’t know anything about the Law of Attraction. But time after time this Law has been working for me in surprising ways. I have a firm belief that this Law actually works in powerful ways.

The Law of Attraction dictates that we attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. All thoughts turn into things eventually.

So, how to handle setback in your life?

I have been focusing as often as I can on the following advice that I receive from my mentors:

Just do your best to keep yourself in balance.  One of the first things that cause Energy misalignment is asking or demanding too much of yourself regarding time and effort.

In other words, you just cannot burn the candle at both ends, so that you are physically tired, and then expect yourself to have a cheerful attitude. So, the rule of thumb has to be: Focus on maintaining a good feeling thought as often as you can.

Every time you say, “I appreciate that, I really like that, I applaud that. I acknowledge the value of that.” Every time you do that, you spend some of your Energy, and it is the spending of the Energy that creates a vacuum, so to speak or an attraction, so to speak, that draws more and more and more

Exercising is an effective way to break the worry and discomfort. As well as releasing endorphins in the brain, physical activity helps to relax the muscles and relieve tension in the body. Since the body and mind are so closely linked, when your body feels better, your mind will benefit too.
