After discouraging attempts at becoming an entrepreneur in the past, I’ve come to realise that without a Big Why and an Absolute Belief and Certainty that success is a reality, everything else is irrelevant.
I believe that most people would love to free themselves from the constraints of traditional employment and many, like me, have started a business in the hope that we finally find independence and flexibility.
In the 1980’s, my husband, John, and I started a traditional business in the plastic industry. He had years of experience; he knew a lot about plastics moulds and production. We went ahead with our dream but our belief to make it a success was not there.
After that disappointment, John went back to his traditional employment, and we carry on living a comfortable life, no more stress, no more long hours, no more pressure.
I started work as a bookkeeper to help out with our expenses and life continue as usual until one day, in the early 1990’s, a very good friend of mine invited me to look at her business opportunity.
She was involved with an Australian networking marketing company. John did not want to do anything with it mainly because network marketing, at that time, was not accepted as a real business, and sadly, not much has changed since then.
However, I did join my good friend’s business opportunity. She invited me to attend their weekly meetings and gave me lots of personal development books to read. That was the beginning of my personal growth.
I didn’t do anything with the business but I embraced the personal development, and since then, I have never stopped reading, listening, attending seminars or webinars. It has been, for sure, one of the best things I have ever done.
Going to the meetings was fun, a friendly social gathering but I never took an interest in the opportunity primarily because I was in my comfort zone; we had the means to do anything we liked and travel to different parts of the world to visit our families in Mexico, England and the USA.
But the reality was that I let go of that opportunity because I didn’t have the belief I could make it a success.
During that time, John’s health started to deteriorate, his left hip started to give him problems, but we thought that with exercise and proper care the issue would eventually disappear. Unfortunately, it was not the case, a year ago he had to have an urgent hip replacement operation.
He has also developed macular degeneration on his left eye, and his vision has deteriorated as well. As a result, I became his carer. It was then that I realised that I have depended on him financially and if something happens to him I will have nothing to back me up, this was a wake-up call for me.
It was time to get serious about looking for ways to start creating financial security, but it had to be something that would allow me to be attentive to my husband and family needs.
I started to look for something that I could put my heart into it. It had to be something I would enjoy doing and had a good potential to generate an attractive income and very importantly working with a fantastic enlightened community. After a lot of research, I found what I was looking for.
What I have found after joining my online business is that this time, I have a Big Why and a belief in making it work is gradually increasing.
I am committed to learning all the skills, my attitude has shifted after all these years. I am putting the time and effort, and more importantly, it is fun.
I now understand that when you have a Big Why and a Strong Belief that you can achieve what you set your mind to do, everything else will fall nicely into place.
